Underfloor heating distributes warmth evenly across the entire floor area, eliminating cold spots and creating a pleasant indoor climate. Because heat rises from below, the temperature profile of the room is ideal: it is warm at foot level and cooler near the ceiling. This allows the room temperature to be set 1-2 degrees lower without any loss of comfort.

Energy savings compared to traditional radiator heating are typically 10-20 percent. Underfloor heating works especially efficiently together with heat pumps, as it requires a low supply water temperature. The materials that work best with underfloor heating are those with good thermal conductivity. Stone and ceramic tiles are excellent choices as they conduct heat efficiently into the room. Concrete, micro-cement, and vinyl cork are also well suited for use over underfloor heating.

Wooden floors and laminates are possible, but their temperature tolerance and moisture behaviour must be taken into account.
